Facilities

Blanchelande Park offers a “home from home” environment with fully furnished bedrooms, lounges, and a dining area. These facilities are designed to create a comfortable and communal atmosphere, fostering a sense of belonging for residents.

These amenities collectively support Blanchelande Park’s philosophy of care by facilitating an active lifestyle and strong social bonds within a loving, family-like setting.

The Estate

The extensive grounds in the 15 acre estate offer plenty of outside facilities including a nature trail, a recreational lawn used for croquet, putting or bowls and a Pétanque pitch. Overlooking the lawn is a large pavilion with a self service kitchen. Here you can sit on the balcony in the shade, watching the activities or simply admiring the natural surroundings. This is the centre of many activities during the summer months. The more adventurous may like to take a walk along the road or across the estate’s agricultural footpaths to any of four nearby hotels.

Within the estate there are 32 independent warden assisted apartments providing sheltered accommodation for people over 55 years of age. Together with the nursing and residential home, the entire estate provides an integrated facility catering for people of advanced years. The apartments are individually leased from an independent company that is controlled by the same management team as the nursing home.

The outdoor facilities are shared by residents of both the nursing and residential home and the sheltered housing units. The pavilion is also available for your own private functions.

Bedrooms

Each of the well-furnished and decorated bedrooms is bright and airy and offers en suite facilities.

Residents are welcome to bring in personal items such as pictures, ornaments and maybe a favourite chair.

Double rooms are available for couples who wish to come into the Home and be together and we also have a superior single room for someone who would like that little bit of extra comfort.

Lounges

Blanchelande Park offers a wide variety of areas where residents can spend time together.

The wonderful Treetops Conservatory commands superb views of the grounds and this is where many of the activities take place. It is fitted with the very latest cinema screen technology, enabling displays of TV, DVD, slide shows and even computer presentations, backed up with hi-fidelity sound and public address system.

A computer is provided that has a broadband internet connection, enabling residents to enjoy free access to online information and emails.

The Music Room provides a quiet place with a large selection of books – many with large print – talking books, jigsaws and other puzzles. An additional TV lounge is available for those wishing to watch on a larger screen, perfect for viewing the news or sporting events.

Dining

Meals are taken in the dining room where home cooked freshly prepared cuisine is served every day.

Residents are offered a choice of dishes for both lunch and supper, and the professional chefs take a caring individual approach by personalising the dishes to accommodate any special diets, personal likes and dislikes.

We also serve morning refreshments, afternoon tea with cake and evening drinks. Self-service tea or coffee making facilities are available throughout the day.

Blanche

Blanche, the specially designed wheelchair-accessible vehicle, is key to helping residents at Blanchelande Park stay active and connected to the Guernsey community. It provides the freedom to easily attend appointments or enjoy outings, fostering independence and preventing social isolation.

This vital transport service extends the “home from home” philosophy beyond the park’s walls. Blanche enables residents to remain engaged with their interests and friends, reinforcing their status as integral members of the wider community and promoting their overall well-being.
